Last week we had our annual Q3 meeting at the Wake Forest Biotech Place in the Wake Forest Innovation Quarter, here in Winston-Salem, NC. We appreciated having such a large meeting space that accommodated everyone so nicely, as our company continues to grow. This two day meeting serves many purposes and we accomplished a lot in our short time together.
As a fairly new member of the Sunrise family, I enjoyed being able to meet everyone. We have folks all over the country, on-site at our customer’s offices, and this is one of two times when everyone from Sunrise gets together. Sunrise takes pride in hiring hard working, intelligent and nice people. Reflecting on last week’s meeting, seeing everyone work together and enjoying one another’s company, I have much appreciation for our HR department and all of their hard work in finding the right people to join the Sunrise family which is no easy task.
The first day consisted of breakout sessions, followed by lunch and a meeting with everyone together, then one last breakout session. In the last breakout session each group was to come up with a list of customer pain points and the solutions to take care of them. Not only were we coming up with solutions to better serve our customers, but we were working with people we would never have the opportunity to work with other wise. We ended the day with a great dinner catered by Holly Tate at the Milton Rhodes Center for the Arts.
Day two started bright and early with a group photo and breakfast before the groups presented their list of solutions. With the open floor nature of the presentations and the dialog that emerged, everyone felt really good about what was shared. We also had a visit from a couple of folks from our new partner, MicroStrategy. You could see the excitement on people’s faces as they were learning more about the new Business Intelligence practice that we have and how our customers will benefit.
Everyone walked away from the meeting with new information and tools to help our customers and excitement about our new BI offering. I really look forward to seeing everyone again in January for our annual bonus dinner weekend!
